aesWatch: “Comelec’s poll automation is endangered”

aesWatch — an independent, nationwide networking of individuals and organizations promoting clean elections–released during its launch this afternoon its STAR (System Trustworthiness, Accountability and Readiness) Scorecard, presenting the group’s rating on 20 areas of concern for the Comelec’s handling of the 2010 automated elections. In the report, the group concludes that the Comelec is in the “danger zone” in its preparations for the coming elections, and is now calling on the Comelec to prepare a contingency plan immediately, saying that “voters’ rights should be a paramount concern.”
